Five Hills Work Days


It is almost spring and time for Five Hills gardeners to get out and work in the outdoors. 

The club work day will be on Thursday, April 5 at 9:30 AM. More details will be sent later.

The planting for the Blue Star Memorial will be on Monday, April 9 at 10:00 AM. We will meet by the red caboose in Vienna.  In case of rain we will plant on Tuesday afternoon, April 10 at 2:00 after the board meeting.

Hands-on Workshop: Orchid 101: How to Get Your Orchid to Rebloom

This hands-on workshop will teach you all the basics of orchid culture, including providing the proper light, water, temperature, fertilizer, and potting media. Techniques that encourage plants to rebloom will be particularly emphasized.

Dr. Wilfried Zeisler, Hillwood’s chief curator, will discuss the traditions of table setting in Western European and Russian cultures, with a focus on the use of centerpieces.
